Music Room Dynamics

Music Is by Tone Deaf Comics, via Pinterest

Art Sphere Inc. is so excited to share ideas from our most recent music program for preschool youth. Because without music, life would simply b-flat!

Using music terminology and equating the teacher with the conductor is how we like our music teacher to establish classroom management. It’s exciting to see how students relate to being a part of the band and looking to their conductor for direction. Indeed, music speaks louder than words so it’s important that students are giving full attention to their leader, who uses theatrical gestures to direct the class. Classes can get very loud because students get very excited and want to jump for joy, so it’s important for students to learn that there is a time and place for every sound.

Students explore all the things music can be, interpreting music in many ways. A song for one student can be happy while for another it can be scary or sad. All interpretations are very personal and there are no wrong answers.
